Transgender Day of Remembrance

Today is Trans Day or Remembrance, when we remember those trans people that have lost their lives over this and past years whether through societal violence or through suicide.

Suicidal ideation in trans people is estimated at 84% – not because they are trans but because society does not allow them to be trans – to live their lives as themselves.

Murder, assault – physical and mental – abuse is higher among trans people than in any other group in society.

This needs to change.

We will remember.
