I am delighted to announce that I have just been awarded the Trans in the City Trans Community Champion of the Year 2022 Award, along with the incredible Eva Echo who is such an inspirational trans ambassador and activist. It was such a strong category, as all the finalists were worthy of winning, so I didn’t think I would stand a chance! I am humbled to be a joint winner with Eva and I’m pleased that the judges decided to create two winners in this category.

The awards gala was such a joyous occasion which brought over 600 trans and gender non-conforming people and our allies together at Canary Wharf for a celebration of all things trans. The event was put together by the powerhouse that is Bobbi Pickard and her fabulous team at Trans in the City.

I was overjoyed to see Emily Waldron win the Young Community Champion award. She may only be 13 years old, but she is making such a difference to the lives of trans people. A true legend who puts many adults to shame.
It was fantastic to see Avril Clark win the trans Ally of the year award. Avril is tireless in her support for trans people. She does so much for our community and I can’t thank her enough for all she does for us.
Huge congratulations to Leng Montgomery winning the Corporate Champion of the year award. Burberry are very lucky to have him!
I’m so pleased that DIVA Magazine won the Trans Inclusive Organisation of the year award.
Big congratulations to Linda Riley and her brilliant team.
It was also lovely to catch up with Michael Cashman, Charlie Martin, Annie Wallace, Jake Graf, Hannah Graf MBE, Nancy Kelley, Fox Fisher and so many more friends.

What a night and what a start to Trans Awareness Week! Thank you Trans in the City.
