Today marks the start of LGBT+ History Month and I managed to get some great publicity from two fabulous places…
The first was from an article I wrote for PwC entitled “Please don’t feel sorry for trans people like me. Be happy for us. Here’s why…” PricewaterhouseCoopers is a multinational professional services network of firms, operating as partnerships under the PwC brand. PwC ranks as the second-largest professional services network in the world and is considered one of the “Big Four” accounting firms, along with KPMG, EY and Deloitte. They are running a series of articles by LGBTQIA people during February to allow them to tell their stories and to raise awareness. My article was very upbeat and positive as I wanted to show that trans people are just ordinary people who want to be happy and that other people should be happy for us as we are now able to live our best lives. PwC shared my article across all their social media. With an organisation of this size, they have a considerable reach and particularly within the corporate sector. The second was an article about me and the work I do with Cool2BTrans which was published in DIVA magazine. DIVA is the World’s biggest-selling magazine for LGBTQIA women and it was first published in 1994, so it is a long-established and well-known magazine. I am delighted with the write-up they very generously gave me as it was extremely flattering. They shared it across all their social media too, which gave me a big boost. With a small section of the LGBTQIA community being very anti-trans, I am so pleased that DIVA is very supportive of trans people. I am a member of their DIVA Community on Facebook and whenever any transphobia raises its ugly head, their moderators stamp it out immediately. I feel very safe and welcome within their community. Thank you DIVA. Please CLICK HERE to view the full article.
