My cat has heard it all before… Zebedee often accompanies (or supervises) me when I am delivering my virtual trans awareness sessions to audiences all over the World, but he is so bored with them now that he just curls up to sleep and covers his eyes with a paw! Thankfully the rest of my audiences manage to stay awake and I put it plenty of humour to keep them on their toes.
Being Pride month, June is mega busy for me. On Monday I presented to the staff and senior management of Harvey Nash Group. On Tuesday I presented to PlayNetwork Limited, with an audience who were mainly in the US, but also in many other countries. Then yesterday I inflicted myself on BGL Group. I have also had several 1-2-1 meetings where I have told my story as well as squeezing in some technical rehearsals for future speaking gigs. It’s all good fun and I love it!
Pippa Hawker-Bond, Global Talent partner for Harvey Nash Group wrote this lovely recommendation on LinkedIn: “Katie delivered an excellent talk for the Harvey Nash Group around her own personal journey and how we can become better allies to the trans community. Her delivery was brilliant and her content was moving, insightful and informative; the feedback we have received from those who attended has been superb. I’d highly recommend engaging with Katie in any capacity.”
Shortly afterwards, Emily Taylor, CSR Manager for BGL group wrote this recommendation too: “Thank you for sharing your story with the colleagues at BGL Group, you’re so inspiring! We wanted to work with you to help educate and empower individuals and you did just that. The feedback from our colleagues was amazing. In the hour long session, you made such an impact and even brought some humour too. Thank you so much. Would highly recommend.”
If only Zebedee was as appreciative!
