I will have to break the law every time I use a public loo

I will be forced to break the law every time I use a public loo if the UK Government’s proposed changes to the Equality Act 2010 become law.

I am a woman who also happens to be transgender. I have been living as my authentic female self for almost 5 years and everywhere I go, I am accepted as female. There is no way that I am going back to using the gents loos again! Just imagine what would happen to me if I were to do so. It doesn’t bear thinking about. Sadly, we are a long way from purely gender-neutral loos being universally adopted and it’s highly unlikely that most establishments would add an extra loo, just for trans people. Even if they did that, I object to being treated as some sort of other-being and being forced to use that loo. I am a woman and I am widely accepted as being so. Trans people shouldn’t be forced to out themselves to stay within the law. If these changes become law, I will wilfully break that law to protect my own safety. I am not a threat or a danger to anyone else. When I use a public loo, I just want a wee in safety, just like you do.

Please help me and my trans and non-binary friends by doing the following 3 things:

1 – Please sign this petition:  https://tinyurl.com/2paz9643

2- Please write to your MP and ideally, ask to meet them to discuss this.  Find your MP here: https://members.parliament.uk/members/commons

3 – Please like, share and comment on this post and on all similar posts, to show your support of gender non-conforming people.

Thank you.  We are getting such a kicking right now and we desperately need you help now, more than ever.
