Cool People: Khakan Qureshi

In this episode of Cool People I talk to my friend Khakan Qureshi BEM (British Empire Medal) to discuss how attitudes toward the Muslim LGBTQ+ have changed through the decades.

Khakan talks about his upbringing in Birmingham, his relationship with his parents and siblings, and how that changed as he grew up and came to understand his sexuality.

Khakan’s Twitter handle is @KhakanQureshi, he also runs BirminghamAsianLGBT (@BrumAsianLGBT) which is a voluntary led organisation for LGBTIQ South Asians in the UK aged 18+ regardless of faith and religion. Khakan can also be contacted directly via his email; Khakanqureshi@gmail.com

N.B.  This interview was recorded before Khakan was awarded his British Empire Medal.
