Trans Awareness Week is always the busiest week of my year and this is year no exception. It’s exhausting, but I’m absolutely loving it!
I delivered two trans awareness training sessions this morning that were just 10 minutes apart, which was just enough time for a comfort break and to make a cuppa – but not to drink it!
My first session was actually a joint session alongside my friend and HR professional Annie Leaver. Annie is a member of a group of HR professionals called North East HR and she has be a staunch ally and a great friend. Annie had prepared an excellent presentation about trans rights history and why trans inclusion is so important and she invited me to come along to tell the story of “My Long Walk to Womanhood” and to do a Q&A at the end. After my very short break, I was straight into a solo lunch and learn session for around 90 staff of IT company Sabio Ltd.
