As Pride month continues, it’s been another mega-busy week for me…
On Monday, I took part in a round table discussion on LGBTQIA+ inclusivity at work.
On Tuesday, I delivered trans awareness sessions to staff at both PPL PRS and at Biffa Waste Services.
On Wednesday, I delivered a trans inclusion session for the Happiness and Humans group, alongside Margot Slattery who delivered a short session on how to create safe and inclusive spaces in the workplace.
On Thursday, I delivered a session for Sift Ltd (HR Zone & training Zone.
On Friday, I delivered a session to Pharmalex GmnH staff who are based in Germany, Norway, UK, USA and India, before giving some support to a young trans person who is currently questioning their gender, alongside their dad.
I also had several pre-production meetings for future gigs and I managed to squeeze in a photography job for the University of Warwick too, as I still run my photography and video business alongside Cool2BTrans.
Following my trans awareness sessions this week, I received some lovely reviews:
Shelby King, Human Resources Manager at The Bristol, Doyle Collection wrote: “Completely inspiring, educational and empowering!! The best webinar of the year (and during lockdown their were a lot of webinars).”
Adam Fenny, Financial Analyst at Biffa wrote: “We booked Katie for a session of “what it’s like to be Trans and how to support those who are” for a virtual session. She delivered the message with incredibly humorous storytelling yet very informative. She educated the audience in a way that put them at ease, was easy to understand and articulated beautifully issues which are often difficult to clearly explain. Thank you Katie for agreeing to help us become more informed on the issues transgender people face and how we can help support them. The session was fantastic, hilarious and most importantly extremely educational.” – Adam Fenny, Financial Analyst at Biffa Polymers Ltd
Louisa Starling, Strategic HR Business Partner at PPL PRS Ltd wrote: “Katie asked me to give some feedback about our webinar yesterday, so I asked our diversity forum today and these are just some of the words/comments given: incredible, moving, inspirational, enlightening, empowering, lighthearted, relaxed, I learned a lot, I felt comfortable to ask any question such a great talk and super fascinating. You have made lots of new friends here at PPL PRS and we hope you will visit us again soon… perhaps in person next time – Covid permitting! 👍”
I have another full and exciting week next week. No rest for the wicked!
